New York Knit Out is Gone!

What happened?! The CYCA was not able to hold the annual 2007 New York Knit Out in Union Square thanks to the onslaught of what I call "Trumpism".  I haven't the foggiest notion who thought there was loads of money to be made at the Knit Out, but it seems that someone in one of these City offices decided to raise the fee for that day and sent the NY Knit Out to it's grave!  If anyone out there knows the exact who, what, where, when, and why of it all hit us up!  We need to start a petition and get it going again!  Girl_crocheting_at_picnic

A community that knits/crochets together stays together!

It's Been A Long Time!

It's been a year since I've been on this site!  2007 was the year for issues, but after one last implosion, it's hopefully going to go out with a smile and some laughs!  I'm sad to report the passing of my fiance, Sayeed Ibn Abdul Samad on October 27th, 2007.  Cancer raised it's ugly head, not once but twice!  We thought we had it beat, but the second go round caught us unaware and was fast and furious!  He is now in peace and with his father and younger sister whom he missed and always spoke about.Sayeed_njoyahkc  Sayeed was my back, my rock, and without him there wouldn't have been a "Harlem Knitting Circle".  He supported me, listened to my ideas, suggested great ones, dug deep into his pockets when needed, came a few times to mingle with the ladies or just support an event we were doing!  He is my love and my heart!  My sorrow is great and I will always miss him!  Sayeed Ibn Abdul Samad will always have a part of my heart!
