Seeking Crochet/Knitting Mentors!
I am currently seeking Crochet and Knitting Mentors for my Afterschool American Girls Club Group. I work at a wonderful school in East Harlem. My girls are very excited and many have joined in anticipation of learning! I would need you to volunteer showing 5th, 6th, and 7th grade girls how to knit or crochet a scarf. I am looking for mentors to volunteer their time for 30min for as many Fridays as they can until the December school holiday. You can volunteer for one day or come the full length of the
program. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE A TEACHER OR EXPERT! The girls will be learning the basic knitting/crocheting stitches and making scarves to give away for holiday presents. I am hoping that I get enough volunteers so that each person will only have two or three students at one time. Mentors will have light refreshments. I am looking to begin Knitting/Crocheting with the American Girls Club on Friday, November 10th. The Afterschool club runs from 3:30 to 5:40. Please leave your contact information for Ms. Njoya Angrum at Children's Aid's Society at 212-860-0299. Thank you for helping me pass the tradition down to our children!
